Our Advisory Services business is focused on the creation and maximization of shareholder value. We take the time to thoroughly understand our Clients' situations and objectives, and offer a complete range of services to assist our Clients in identifying and pursuing their strategic options that provide the most shareholder value.
In addition to providing a complete range of the traditional advisory services, we are frequently asked by our Clients to deep-dive into broader corporate issues. Some examples of this work:
- Definition and valuation of strategic alternatives. Often times our Clients are faced with important choices such as expanding to a new international market, exploring a sale of a company or division, or shutting down a subsidiary. We believe such decisions must be made in the proper context, considering all of the Company's strategic options. We assist our Clients in identifying what these options are, quantifying the differential value that each one provides to the firm's current value, and establishing priorities by contrasting the quantitative results with qualitative shareholder objectives and issues.
- Portfolio review. Many of our clients are companies and families with interests in multiple businesses, and often their portfolio decisions are made on an individual-investment basis. We assist our clients in focusing on a holistic portfolio view that properly frames their risk and return objectives for individual company holdings to fit in with their overall objectives. Frequently, this type of analysis helps our Clients make decisions on dividend policy, adequate capital structuring, and other related areas.
As a result of providing strategic advice to our Clients, we regularly become trusted advisors on broader issues and are frequently asked by their boards or key executives to participate in key decision-making processes, acting as an advisory partner with an intimate understanding of our Client's issues.
